so just wrapped up some commando recording of two new songs... demo format had to put on my engineer hat for a couple of days we did it all in chris's basement on my little small but powerful porta studio....holy shit its alot of work i have a new found respect for those studio guys...well hopefully i will learn how to post them so we can get some feed back...the somgs recorded were "rendezvous" and "two trains (courage)" after com[leting these recordings i feel a rebirth i feel so creative right now im busting.....just knowing the capabilities of what i can do with my ministudio and the quality that can be acheived is very satisfying....i see alot of recording sessions in my future......aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh damn i feel good!!!!! hope you do too

all i can say is wow! what a great night wednesday @the mod club the show was a roaring success alot of money was raised for the muki baum association and the crowd was treated to some great performances......from our point of veiw we really didnt think that we played all that well just because our stage mix was not good(we did not get a sound check)but the audience cant be wrong we got some great feedback after the show i want to thank all the folks who made thier way down to check out the show you guys are wicked....i dont know? what can i say? full house! great venue !great people! great bands!makes for a great time.....before i forget want to say a quik thanks and congrats to jamie and ashley for doing such a great job organizing this event...oh yeah and thanks 2 the edge 102 people 4 all the radio promo which we received (solid!)....so we video"d the show and we hope to get some clips on our site yes i know what youre thinking these guys cant even get photos up!!!!and this is true but we have been working really hard behind the scenes to get all these things ready to go and slowly but surely they are coming and we are almost there....and i promise u this site is going to rock!!!
in other news we have signed on with a new management team called j.i. management who approached us early in the summer...couple great guys who really believe in the music and are highly motivated to get this ship in the water so we are very excited indeed.....
what of dana u ask?well dana is still on our team in a big way (thank god!)although she doesnt have time to manage in a full time capacity she is still very much in our corner...dana i dont know if you read this stuff but thank you soooooooo much for all that you have done for us up to this point.....there really and truly would be no dunes if it wasnt for dana grant she is the kindest most giving person i have ever met and consider myself exceptionally lucky to have her as a friend i cannot say enough about her she truly is an angel......

so reading a funny book called "lamb" by an author named christopher moore read this book! funny as fu#k the book is basically about jesus's life according to his childhood pal biff
really want to get in the studio and do this new record!

hello scotland!!!!!!been thinking bout peebles lately with this miserable weather that we have been having hope you are all doing well over there

so the movie of the week is a documentary called "dig" or ratherits a rockumentary
i give this movie 5 stars out of 5 it chronicles the paths of 2 rock bands the dandy warhols and the brian jonestown massacre over a an eight year period fascinating shit in this flick and definite must see for any rock and roll fan i would tell u more but you really need to see it for yourself

new starts.....new days.....change ......a friend of mine decided to make a clean break from the old life into a new more productive one and thats a good thing ive been thinking along the same lines 4 sure....fairly recently i split with my girlfriend who i never really talked about too much on here just cause.... i didnt!...i kind of want that part of my life to be mine and hers.......so these things are never that easy easier for some than others i suppose, in my case i sort of fell into a nomans land forgetting who i was and still to this day have a habit of doing so....but im trying my best!!! and things are looking up!!! the key to this looking up business is keeping busy......i think its really easy as humans to look @ the things in our lives that we dont do well instead of concentrating on what we do do well i guess its the human condition......so a new start a new clarity is blossoming for me and with it comes all these new possibilities which is exciting as long as i can stay busy enough and keep the focus but that bieng said i think aswell that it takes practice like anything else....listen to me i sound like a motivational speaker...oh yeah great @ giving advice just not following it there!!iright there! it just happened again found something i dont do that well instead of the good(fuck i hate it when that happens).back to the drawing board.

right so we have a couple of new shows lined up obviously the mod club show 4 the muki baum association next wednesday and we have just recently added a show @ lees palace on dec 8th with a couple of cool bands national sound , alcona and another whose name escapes me right now (sorry guys) and ive just been booked @ the cameron house for my side project the pullie project on january 19th i really got to get my ass in gear on my website 4 that i have a friend who is just waiting 4 a meeting to start working on it...i have a couple of the tunes recorded 4 it already calling all cars (acoustic) a huge departure from the version on socializing with life and a coulpe of newies that nobody knows yet one called "we need a song" another just written yesterday called "start from here".

if youre looking for crazy people look no further than toronto more specifically the subway holy fuck!! what a day ive had already just moving around this city...some dude was punching himself in the head than demonstrating his neck snapping techniques to the air some weird shit going on i think its what the city does to some.

just heard this but thought its cool i went wow its the differnece between a million and a billion

i would like to encourage everybody out there to come and check us out at the mod club theatre on the 16th in support of the muki baum association we are very honoured to be a part of this event...the muki baum is a non profit charitable organization who runs treatment centres for people of all ages with complex mental, and emotional disabilities such as autism....this really is a great cause and 100 percent of the profits are going to the charity......we will be sharing the stage with stella crush luther and the salads and the night will be emceed by dean blundell of the edge 102 morning show the evening kicks off @ 7:30 and the bands start right around that time i believe we will be on @ around 8:30 following stella and the headliners take the stage @ 10:30

in other news we are getting ready to go back to the studio to record our follow up cd to socializing with life at this point still unnamed.....i have been writing alot of late and over the last 12 months or so and i think we have some really strong material...who knows this may even be a double album we have that much!

its really great to have alistair and todd on board they both bring thier own styles to the table and have made me a much better writer our new songs still have the space of the old but i think we are writing much better songs....with nice layers and textures goddamn i wish i was at the studio today i get really excited just thinking about it we have wee rehearsal this afternoon should be good ...oh yeah check out the new sarah harmer video due out in the next couple of weeks our very own guitarist alistair was cast as her love interest ....nice one luck!
one more thing we have just been asked to play @ lees palace on dec 8 details will follow
a video maybe in the works soon for the dunes or rather is in the works not to many details yet
we also will hopefully be on our way to texas for the south by south east music conference ...that should be fun fingers crossed on that one .
