Back in the city for a few days all our shows this week are all nice and close by Barrie tommorow night Kitchener Friday Guelph Saturday......we put a few thousand clicks on the van on our last leg which took us to Sudbury Thunderbay and Winnipeg.
I love the road kind of frees up my mind which from time to time is in shackles....im a bit mental i think......so the trip was really good.....one of the major reasons for this was the company we hadn't toured with another band before it was always just us but this time it was us and the The Beautiful Unknown...strength in numbers call it...an extra support system...we have a bunch more dates coming up with them aswell which is excellent they are all good guys and are becoming good friends plus they fucking rock..super tight players and the songwriting is highly inspirational...every day of the tour one us would be humming or singing one thier tunes at any given point of the day.... funny...... cause im actually humming one myself right now.
After Sudburys show at the Townehouse which was alot of fun i think we had a pretty tight little set the crowd was good and thanks to all you who came to support bought cd's and merch and to Life Blown Open (really good local band who kicked of the night). So after the show there was no time for hanging around we packed up and hit the road..drove through the night to Thunderbay there were some funny moments in the van as i was "high school high" and loving it this journey was a long one i think it took us about 15 hours that was with a little stop in a gas staton parking lot in the middle of nowhere where Adam the designated driver fro the night took a break...for how long? nobody knows .............we played at Jacks to a really great crowd lots of folks right up at the stage getting into it ...tbu did as they do and blew some minds as usual.....after the show i went and did some mingling and met some cool people and was given a smooth rock by an native indian women to carry with me for good luck and to ward off evil spirits...i think its one of if not the coolest gifts i have ever been given...thank you! Who cant use a little good luck? We had a wee afterhours party back at our hotel and when i awoke there was an inch of water on the floor of our room (ask Adam)...so need less to say we got out of there as quickly as possible...already leaving later than expected which is pretty typical of us...on the way to the "Peg" i did a phone interview with the good people of freq 107 fm as the road kill tally mounted holyshit people hit alot of deers out there so we arrived in th "Peg" soundchecked ate dinner... a little earlier me and adam left lucky and todd to get us a room we passed a place on the way to the venue a few blocks before so they went to investigate...lucky calls my cell and says yeah were sorted and then goes on to explain how rough our accomodations are"as we walked into the place kev theres a bar attached to the place so as we walked at 8pm we almost get knocked out by a dude who came roaring out of there with a guy in a head lock and preceeded to slam his face into the glass asking if he would like more" hhmmmm "thats great Lucky is that what sold you on the place?" yeah this place was a fucking crack den i think what gave it away was the pay phones in the lobby and the zombie ish looking people with the shakes and hobo clothes on whos attention was immediately given to as we walked in probably in the hopes that we might be there dealers.............so what are you gonna do right the room only cost 40 bucks.......i was under the impression that the room would at least be heated as it was -15 up there but apparently not ......with no time to complain we showered up and got over to the venue to catch tbu's show which was nothing less then specfuckingtacular....this show was sponsored by freq 107 so we met all the dj's and such..what a cool bunch of folks april dave gen to name we chatted and i thanked them for all the play theyve been giving our single (thanks guys) so then it was our turn so we turned it up to 11 and an hour later it was all over we played a pretty good set i think taking some pointers from tbu...when we finished we had an impromtu jam with one of the freqs announcers you had to be there....had another wee party in our hotel room that night in the cold jackets and boots required...as we left in the morning a guy shows up at our door and says i hear youre heats not working.....how ironic
We drove 26 hours straight home that day and night through snowstorms rains moose country smelly feet watched all the vhs videos we had in the van smoke alot of pot and had a lot of good laughs...if this sounds like something u want to do please contact us were looking for a driver the pay is shitty but the adventure is good.

Feeling.....oh so not so fresh today turned out last nights after show antics were well....excessive ......so it goes
A small but appreciative crowd was on hand at Ottawa's Zaphods which really was a shame...a few suprise guests there aswell...had a few friends come down from Montreal for the show(you guys are awesome)...............cant say it was our best show to date just due to some technical difficulties really........... second song in i popped a string on my acoustic but finished 1 string down and plugged on through the next one in the same manner...due to this we cut "hurry up" and moved onto "calling all cars" however it seemed that my electric wasn't making any noise at all....so im trying to sing it with out the aid of my guitar which made it very difficult for me to find the proper vocal key which i am now very aware that the opening line is my key finder ...so yeah a bit of scrambling at the beginning of the set but we made it through the boys were on top of their game and comped something as i tried to figure out what was going on and then did as The Tenderbox's guitarist came up to the stage with some help (cheers bro)..from that point on we were good to go and go we did eventually leaving a couple of buckets of sweat on stage......both tbu and ttb were excellent aswell ttb had to head up to Montreal shortly after their set tbu was in full form so we all headed over to the mod night @ Babylon the rest is blurry or maybe just incriminating.

Ive been online all fucking night i have a little mac laptop and love it so ive been catching up on the news and actually checking out some apartment rental costs in France and Spain...pretty reasonable actually.....i really into the idea of spending a month or two over there in the new year to just write and experience life from a different perspective.

I love documentaries(i love real life stuff) so went searching for free streaming doc's online tonight and it directed me to "frontline" which is part of the pbs(you remember pbs alex p keatons dad worked there in "family ties")broadcasters group...anyhow this site is great for streaming some cool doc's right to your computer and just watched this amazing feature documentary called "A class divided" which is about a social experiment involving grade 3 students shortly after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King...it's truly a fascinating piece and shows you just how powerful discrimination of any kind really is i highly recommend this to anyone and actually having this exercise implemented in schools everywhere by a qualified mediator would in my opinion be a an amazing step in the right direction for the worlds human relations.

cut and paste this link to check it out its a really valuable piece....and apparently the most requested doc on pbs

Just about to watch Led Zeppelins "The song remains the same" dvd but before just want to reflect on last nights Mod Club theatre show.

So the stage was set for an amazing night of Rock'n'roll were as tight as weve ever been the venue is as good as it gets and the line up for the night was stellar!!!So guess what it was a fucking amazing night! By the time we hit the stage the mod club was at capacity people right up front jammed up againest the stage (always a buzz)with those numbers in a room the energy is bound to be good and it was if not great we have been rehearsing a new set list and i think we hit it this time with last nights set...a seamless one that just snowballed as the momentum was created then boom!..its all over and we think we left folks wanting more and thats the goal.... to put on a show make people feel..... to have a moment!... were not all the way just yet but its getting closer and we know that we can never stop learning.Just wanna say thanks to the Muki Baum charity for having us back edge 102 for all the promo the mod club especially Mark Prinsloo for doing such an amazing job with sound (as usual)Crush Luther and Thornley whos sets were highly inspiring aswell and last but not least all the people who came out to support us and this great charity.

Sunday were on our way to Ottawa kicking off our tour with a stop at Zaphods with our road companions The beautiful unknown.....headlining that night are the L.a. based Tenderbox who actually came to check us out last night we didnt have to much time to chat cause we were heading onstage when we met but Lucky talked with the guys after the show and said they were solid people and the music is brilliant check em out! After Ottawa were on our way to Sudbury Thunderbay and then Winnipeg 3 shows on the trot with a lot of driving in between lets hope the weather holds up...then were back in Southern Ontario for several dates before hitting Quebec and the Maritimes. Ok time to watch Arguably the best band of all time..

see ya

Yeah a little longer than 12 hours later i know.......so that was one busy day we headed for sound check which was running a bit behind which worked out cause we had to to do a quick radio interview at KROCK which was cool the djs name was sideshow good guy..from the station we zipped back to the venue and waited for our turn do our check...i got to say the crew there were excellent very very nice people which and master technicians we actually had Thornleys sound man doing ours for the show great guy.....im jumping ahead and im all over the place right now where was i ? oh right so as Sam and his band checked The Stills poped in to say hello on thier way to Toronto from Montreal where they wer playing the next night (i love that band)we met seemed like a nice bunch.....so after sound check we were all really happy we had met Sams band the sound was great everything was aok.
We hit the stage @ 10:15 and the crowd was already jammed right up close to it ....its always nice to have a big crowd...we threw ourselves into it...mind you we didnt have alot of room up there because we set up our gear in front of Sams so it was hard to get our crazy on however we did our best under the circumstances the crowd was excellent very excited and warm i think they really dug stuff which was very cool...i think we and the srb have a very similar type fan base so it was a great crossover.

Srb came on at about 11:30 i believe and holy fuck they did not dissapoint from start to finish what a fucking show Sam had the crowd eating out of his hands....near the end of the set he was actually crowd surfing...that was cool to watch..i think we learnt a few lessons and took a few notes...always learning......so afterwards the dunes and SRB whooped it up into the wee hours of the morning...i got to say Sam and the band are really nice people very down to earth and generally just alot of fun to be around we enjoyed the night immensly and hope to be doing more shows with those guys in the future.....thanks Kingston Srb and all of our new friends you rock!

Busy weekend friday in Barrie for the Hospice Charity was ...well an interesting time we were supposed to be onstage @ 8 and turned out that we hit the stage at 10 thats not even close...its a good thing it was a charity gig cause to be honest some of us were kind of pissed off about the delay which was really perpetrated by one super self absorbed individual.......any way once we got up there it took us a few songs to get our bearings (is that how its spelled) because there was no sound check just a quick line check so really it was just playing and hoping for the best...which sucks however it was for a great cause and the event was a great success.
Sat night i got a chance to catch up with some friends i hadnt seen in awhile which was awesome good times indeed...so this morning i felt lack lustre as i zoomed to the rogers centre where we played outside of gate 4 (yeah oops we thought it was gate 11) for the Argos playoff game ...im tired as right now got a get a good nights sleep up to Kingston 2morrow night for a gig with a pretty high profile band...i let it slip before cause our management never mentioned that this was a secret show so ssshhhhh! Were gonna be up there early aswell for a tv interview at 1pm and which will leave alot of time to kill before showtime ..i'll get over it i really got to go to sleep see ya
